WHAT TO EXPECT

Visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating. Here are some things to help you feel informed and comfortable before you visit.

Since 1844, Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church has pursued its three-fold mission: Exalting Jesus, Engaging Scripture, Equipping Disciples.

At Good Springs, you will experience our committment to intergenerational worship with music and preaching centered on the gospel. Whether you’ve been around church all of your life or this is your first time stepping foot in a church, we want to make your experience welcoming.

WE SING OUR FAITH

God calls us to teach and admonish one another by singing “psalms and hymns and spiritual songs” with thanksgiving so that His Word would dwell richly in us (Colossians 3:16). At Good Springs, we joyfully sing the truths of God’s Word to each other to build up one another in faith. We hope that every person present at our worship services would leave with a sense of awe and wonder at what Jesus has done for us as a result of the psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that we sing.

WE PREACH GOD'S WORD

At Good Springs, our goal in each sermon is to faithfully explain the meaning of each biblical passage and to connect it to Scripture’s grand narrative: God’s great love for us, especially revealed in Jesus’ sacrificial death, calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

WE HELP EACH OTHER GROW IN GRACE

At Good Springs, we love every generation and endeavor to support one another’s growing faith in Jesus. Whether gathered in the sanctuary together or learning in age-based classes, we sing, pray, read, and preach the Bible to help each other see and believe God’s amazing love towards us in Jesus. These are means God has given to His people to grow in grace.

At 9:00am, Connection Group Bible studies are provided for all ages. At the 10:00am service, we gather together in the sanctuary and children kindergarten through fifth grade are dismissed to children’s church before the sermon for a special time of instruction. Additional opportunities for all ages to grow in grace are provided on Sunday evenings and Wednesdays.
